A Super Neat + Cute Trick for Decorating Cute Jam Jars

No, I promise this isn’t turning into an all-canning blog, despite my most recent posts.

I wanted to share a super neat trick with you that I originally saw on Pinterest from Brown Paper Packages.

If you’re looking for cute jam jars as a way to spruce up your home-canned goodies, look no further.

Prepare for your mind to be blown. Okay, not really. But it’s still pretty cool.

Using cupcake wrappers to decorate jar lids is a quick, easy and low cost project that makes a special gift or just makes a really pretty pantry of your own.

All you need to do is find some cupcake baking cups with a pattern or color you like and carefully flatten them out with your hands. Unscrew the band on the jar (after your jar has been processed and cooled) and lay the flattened baking cup on top. Replace the band and carefully screw it on.

These were wide-mouth jars so the wrappers don’t overhang under the band, but if you used standard jars, they would hang down a bit, which looks really cute.

I only wish I would have seen this before I made jam for our wedding! We cut out 150 rounds of fabric, which was both time consuming and expensive.

Give it a try!

P.S. The jam in these photos is The East Coast Blueberry Jam recipe from The Blue Chair Jam Cookbook. It’s to die for. I think it’s my new favorite.
