Help a Friend by Helping Others

A friend and a staple in Tacoma’s community, suffered an accident, when her van carrying herself and her 9-year-old daughter was hit by a semi truck on their way to school when the truck ran a red light. At this time, the young girl is still in the hospital. My heart goes out to them and wishes them both a speedy recovery.

Also in the van were holiday gifts from her daughter’s Girl Scout troop for two needy United Way families. The gifts that were in the van are not accessible due to the accident, and may be damaged.

Although we cannot reverse this accident, please consider donating replacement gifts tomorrow, Saturday, December 15th, from 12-3p.m. at Bradley Lake Park in Puyallup, WA at 531 31st Ave SE.

Items needed include toys, winter clothes and household items. For a complete list of needed items, please email the Girl Scout troop directly at gstroop43602 [at] gmail.com. Click the above link for the news story for more information. Read More »

Yes, they are a sugar bomb.

But who can resist sprinkles and colorful candy?  Kids and adults alike can’t keep their hands off of them.

Will Bake for Food was yesterday, and these were my most popular sellers by far. Read More »

A few weeks ago, I joined Pinterest.  I know it’s been around for a while, and lots of savvy folks are already pinning away.

If you don’t know what it is, Pinterest “… lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes”.

It’s a visual paradise of pretty things, helpful tips, DIY projects, funny quotes and recipes, recipes and more recipes.

Maybe it’s because I’m a Virgo, and Virgos typically like to have choices, explore and bring very specific things into their lives.  But I am really loving Pinterest, not only for my personal fancies, but also for blogging.  Here’s why: Read More »
