I’ve been a lot busier the last couple of weeks.

Being busy is great. It really is. I love working, and now that I have extra reasons to write about food, I couldn’t be happier.

The quick and easy weeknight dinner has become essential for me. Actually, add to that cooking in bulk so there’s leftovers for Casey or I to eat when we’re on the run, and you can see the kind of cooking I’ve been doing lately.

One of our favorite family dinners comes from a cookbook my grandma gave my mom before her passing, The Jewish Holiday Cookbook.  My grandma never actually made this dish, but my mom would make it for her on occasion, and it was one of her favorites as well. Read More »

I have officially just butchered my first turkey.   Actually, first animal in general.  Since my knife skills are horrible at best, I generally avoid buying cuts of meat that need to have the bones removed.  I usually leave that to the professionals.  But apparently there is no such thing as a boneless, skinless, natural turkey breast in Tacoma.   I know, the fact that I removed the turkey breasts from a turkey may not be a notable event to you, but I am pretty excited.  It even looked right.  Can’t wait to butcher my next whole animal.  Next time, maybe a chicken.  Oooohhhh…Ahhhhh… Read More »
